About the Role
Pluto Day Care is seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to join our leadership team as a Centre Supervisor.
As a Centre Supervisor, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and daily operation of one of our childcare centres. This role plays a key part in ensuring a safe, high-quality learning environment for children while supporting educators, building strong relationships with families, and maintaining compliance with all applicable legislation and licensing requirements.

Leadership & Staff Management
As Centre Supervisor, you will:
Lead, mentor, and support a team of educators and support staff.
Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative workplace culture.
Create and manage staff schedules, including vacation, absence, and break coverage.
Conduct staff performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and support.
Organize and facilitate regular staff meetings.
Support employee growth through mentorship and professional development opportunities.
Operations & Administration
You will be responsible for:
Ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation and regulations, including:
Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA)
Occupational Health & Safety Act
Public Health regulations
Fire Code requirements
Employment Standards legislation
Privacy legislation
Maintaining accurate enrolment, attendance, waitlist, and child records.
Completing administrative reporting and fee submissions.
Coordinating daily centre operations and staffing needs.
Supporting classroom programming and ensuring alignment with Pluto Day Care's philosophy and standards.
Managing supply staff and operational coverage requirements.
Family & Community Engagement
You will:
Build strong, respectful relationships with children and families.
Conduct centre tours and support enrolment growth.
Respond to parent inquiries and concerns professionally and effectively.
Prepare newsletters and centre communications.
Develop positive relationships with community agencies and partners.
Centre Management
Additional responsibilities include:
Monitoring and maintaining staffing ratios at all times.
Supporting classrooms and educators when operationally required.
Identifying and responding to changing program and community needs.
Managing inventory and ordering classroom and centre supplies.
Collaborating with senior leadership and other Pluto Day Care Supervisors to ensure consistency and excellence across all locations.
Wage
Salaried position starting at $68,000 per year.
This wage is inclusive of applicable wage enhancements.
Qualifications
Applicants must have:
Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE)
Registration in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE)
Minimum 5 years of experience in a licensed childcare setting
Valid First Aid & CPR certification
Strong knowledge of childcare licensing and regulatory requirements
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
The following are considered strong assets:
Previous supervisory or leadership experience
Early Childhood Administration or Supervisor training
Experience working within a multi-site childcare organization
Familiarity with CCLS (Child Care Licensing System)
Experience using Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms)

Location & Schedule
Pluto Day Care operates three childcare centres within the Waterloo Region, including two locations in Kitchener and one location in Waterloo.
This position may be assigned to any Pluto Day Care location, with the specific centre to be determined based on organizational needs.
Occasional attendance at evening meetings, training sessions, professional development opportunities, or community events may be required.
8-hour shifts (Supervisor's typically work 6:30am - 3:00pm)

Monday to Friday
No weekends
